Ryan Garcia says Terence Crawford “Can’t beat” Uniform super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez in her fight in September. Garcia notes that Crawford (41-0, 31 Kos) looked against Israail Madrimov in Los Angeles last August last August.
Crawford’s error
Madrimov, 5’8 1/2 ”, is not that big and not the puncher that Canelo has at 168. Crawford looked like a 40-person fighter in this fight at his age, whose strength did not go from the 147-LB division. He was illuminated the entire struggle by Madrimov, ate right hands and showed no power with his shots.
Crawford resembled her typical, everyday 40-year-old against Madrimov and was lucky enough to win. With other judges that focused on harder, cleaner landing shots, they would have given Madrimov victory. His blows were far more effective in every round.
The way in which Crawford looked in this fight he would lose in a retirement against Madrimov and would be destroyed by the other 154 pounders such as Bakhram Murtazaliev, Serhii Bohachuk and Virgil Ortiz Jr.
Without the riad season, Canelo-Crawford would not take place because Alvarez Crawford would not indulge in giving him this fight without deserving it by proving himself against the murderers, David Benavidez, David Morrell and Osleys Iglesias.
If Crawford wants the golden parachute rest against Canelo, let him go through these three and if something is left afterwards, let him fight the Mexican superstar.
Crawford would never have done that because the results would have been negative for him. He would go 0-3 against these boys and probably be excavated by each of them. A small, weak 40-year-old against these fighters would be a mismatch.
“Don’t look strong”
“He can’t beat Canelo,” said Ryan Garcia about Akin Reyes & Barak Bess YouTube Channel about Terence Crawford, who does not beat Canelo Alvarez, if you fight in September. “I don’t see how he beats Canelo. He didn’t even see (Israail) Madrimov (on August 3 last year) to be honest, and Madrimov is not even so big.”
“You have two different styles,” said Akin and came to Crawford’s defense for why he looked so poor against Madrimov, overhauled the entire fight and hardly beat him.
“In an out counter punching,” said Bess about Madrimov’s combat style, which he effectively used agan crawford.
“The thing with Canelo is, he has mastered his style and he won’t change it,” said Ryan. “He mastered it. He understands whatever it goes in the ring. I just don’t see how Derence beats him. I don’t.”
It is a shame that the Riad season Crawford does not jump through a few tires to get the Canelo fight because it would make it more interesting for casual boxing fans who do not know who he is or does not like his combat style. At least Crawford should have to go through David Benavidez or David Morrell to get the Canelo fight. Only one of these two, and you get the fight. If you lose, well.
