Terence Crawford was upset today and reacted to Canelo Alvarez downplaying his record by saying he was just fighting a “good” His opponent during his 17-year professional career was Errol Spence, and that was after he was in a horrific car accident in 2019.
Alvarez: “A good win”
Canelo seems to have mixed feelings about giving an unmatched, untested fighter like Crawford the chance to fight him. Terence never fought any of the killers at 147 or 154.
It’s understandable that Alvarez would take a dig at Crawford, who has a resume barren of quality gains because that is the truth. He’s an example of how fighters can move through divisions, win titles against weak opponents, and then challenge a popular fighter for the payout. There’s a system to it. What Crawford accomplished by winning four division titles is no different Adrien Broner did to accomplish the same feat.
Terence wins the world title in four divisions
– Israil Madrimov – 154
– Jeff Horn – 147
– Thomas Dulorme – 140
– Ricky Burns – 135
Canelo wouldn’t be upset with Crawford if he had at least done that, and that’s not asking much of him. King Canelo would be right to insist that Crawford add his soft fur to the total population of 168 to mix with the Top predatorsBenavidez, Morrell, Osleys Iglesias, Christian Mbilli and Diego Pacheco.
The fourth-ranked Crawford was wounded by Canelo’s pithy truth, but he could only respond that he had “always had the pleasure of turning his opponents into ‘nobodies’.” But what does that say about Crawford when they were nobodies when he fought them?
Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) revealed the truth about Crawford’s career. He has only beaten one good fighter, Spence, and that was after he was physically destroyed in his car accident in 2019. Once you get past the win over Errol, there’s no one on Terence’s resume that you can call a good fighter. They were either shot when Crawford fought them or reached B-level throughout their careers.
Crawford defends his legacy
“Lol, that’s crazy! So not every fighter I’ve fought is good, but one? Noted! “Just remember what you said because I’ve always enjoyed making someone look like they’re not,” Terence Crawford continued Xin response to Canelo Alvarez saying he had only beaten “one good fighter” Errol Spence in his 17-year pro career.
“I respect Terence Crawford, but he only won one big fight. If you look at his record, he just beat a good fighter. Otherwise, I don’t think he beats a great fighter like Spence,” Canelo Alvarez said in an interview with TMZ Sport.

Turki Al-Sheikh should tell Crawford that he must defeat these three fighters to win the fight against Canelo:
- David Benavidez
- David Morrell
- Osley Iglesias
I would be fine with Turki if he insisted that Crawford run this little gauntlet to earn the Canelo golden parachute pension money. I mean, isn’t that how they do it in the NFL and NBA? You play against the best teams and take part in the playoffs and championship games for a chance to win the grand prize. Crawford is trying to take a shortcut to gold and I can’t respect that. This is a bad example that others will follow because they know they can ride out their careers and pick vulnerable prey to get the magic retirement reward.
